Histoire des alliances avec le peuple castor - Suzanne Husky at the Château de Châteaudun

The Centre des monuments nationaux has invited artist Suzanne Husky to give the Château de Châteaudun a carte blanche.

In Histoire des alliances avec le peuple castor, Suzanne Husky draws her inspiration from the Bayeux Tapestry to illustrate the history of inter-species relations over a period of eleven centuries. The Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidery of wool on linen measuring over 68 metres in length. Through nine panels of fabric, it recounts the events of the conquest of England by William, Duke of Normandy, in the 11th century. In the manner of Bayeux, Suzanne Husky sequences her narrative in six parts, telling the story of the river from Mesolithic times to the 21st century.
