The Line
The story of The Line began in Marseille in 2015, with a photo taken from a sailing boat behind the Frioul Islands in the early hours of the morning. At that moment, the sun was rising, and the backlit shot revealed a panorama that was both raw and sublime. You can see the whole city from l'Estaque to the Pointe Rouge: Notre-Dame de la Garde, the Trouée de Vauban and the Malmousque district. Rather than frame it, Antoine, founder of The Line and a cabinetmaker originally from Marseille, came up with the idea of reproducing the relief in laser-cut metal. This technique and this material make it possible to detail the topography and the monuments very precisely, and to give both weight and finesse to this unique object. The idea for The Line was born: to design souvenirs to hang on the walls.
